What is family law mediation?

What family law issues can be mediated?

Nearly any family law matter can be mediated, including divorce, child custody and conservatorship, parenting plans, child support, spousal support, property division, modifications, and enforcement disputes. Schmude Mediations also offers binding arbitration for these issues.

Can mediation be done over Zoom?

Yes. Schmude Mediations, PLLC offers family law mediation by Zoom anywhere in Texas, as well as in person at the Texas Justice Center in Bellaire. Zoom breakout rooms keep parties separate, just like caucus rooms in person.

What happens once we reach an agreement?

The terms are written into a Mediated Settlement Agreement signed by the parties and their attorneys. Under the Texas Family Code, a properly executed mediated settlement agreement is binding and is typically turned into a final court order.
